Joy Foster lives in Oxford, England with her two children, Heidi and Asher and husband, Tim Foster. Joy is the founder of Made with Joy, a social enterprise which builds and markets websites for charities, non profits, social enterprise and small business.
Joy’s professional background includes website design, volunteer management, fundraising, e-marketing and sales. From 2008-2014, Joy lived in Luzern, Switzerland where she set up Living in Luzern, a non profit organization focused on connecting expats in Luzern with the local community.
Before moving to Switzerland, Joy lived and trained at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California while a member of the United States Archery Team. She was a member of four consecutive US Archery Teams from 2004-2007. Joy has run two marathons for Charity, The Boston Marathon in 2003 and The Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego in 2008.
Always concerned with the community around her, Joy has put countless hours into helping non-profits. Some of the organizations that she has worked with and/or supported include Team Darfur (now merged with United to End Genocide), Compassion International, LET’S SHARE, 211 San Diego, Endow Chula Vista (via the Chula Vista Mayor’s Office), Children of Promise, Eastlake Community Church, the International Church of Lucerne, the ICL Women’s Committee, Phillips Exeter Class of 1998 Class Agent, Founders4Schools and the Swiss American Society Lucerne. In 2012, Joy was a guest speaker at Copthall School as part of Silicon Valley Comes to the UK‘s pilot Founder4Schools programme.
